I'm new to the Island

Hello everybody, my name is Monty, and my driver is Mararmeisto. I like muddy lanes, long drives along the beach, and quietly watching sunsets whilst peeking out from under the branches at the edge of a glade.

I sailed across the Pacific late last year on a ship chartered by Tyee Imports, and after spending a couple of weeks getting flushed, tightened, torqued, swapped, re-lubed and greased up at CCAutos' place, I was taken home by a couple of RHD-enthusiasts. Hope to meet many of you in the coming weeks.

Welcome Monty, that's a cute little hood scoop you have there. Is there an intercooler hiding under there?

Quiet drives along the beach? Watching sunsets? Monty, do I detect a little "lonely in Langford"?
(Welcome to the club, by the way...)

Falco.

Just the color combo I like, I'm lusting after a five speed shorty, preferably a 2.8, but my student funds leave me only able to admire your truck, :(.

2.8 litre, intercooled, turbo diesel engine - and it goes! Much better than L300, which is surprising because it weighs nearly the same. Go figure!

I'm sure my L400 weighs more than my old L300, but that extra 0.3L and the intercooler makes a HUGE difference.

Nice truck Paul, too bad there's only one picture posted! Is is a AT or MT? Best color, just not enough mud showing!

ps. Did you take your post write up idea from Lavalife? 8-)

It's an automatic and I finally remembered to take some pictures (I removed the first one 'cause it was a little boring).

Here's a few for his online profile.

So I got some of the Japanese on Monty translated: one is a surprise and the other confirms my original thoughts.

This first image is apparently a convocation for safe driving from the Ikushima Shrine, a sort of "Drive with Buddha" bumper sticker.

And this second is the name of a construction company (no word on which company, though). This confirmed my initial thoughts that the vehicle was well looked after, either garaged or stored indoors. Low mileage and quite clean inside, as well.

Thanx going out to deLOOKA's wife for the translation. Sorry we missed each other at the Tomahawk breakfast this past weekend.
