COntrol arm bushings are shot, neeeeed front rotors and pads soon but cant find and more electrical ngihtmares galore!

OH and she isnt running. Distributer looks ok but apperntly i was told by another forum that some pin in the flywheel when goodbye on me....
Also I forgot that the exhaust rusted so i welded my stright thru magnaflow muffer on and its pretty mcuh a straight pipe! FML especially without my radio...

Woaaa 6g isnt bad at all!

I was looking at Storm80y's 92 super exceed as he will be leaving canda soon also. (I guess -50c just makes alot of people go F*&#$ This!)
He wants 8g and it looks to be pretty prestine!

Ha Im a newbie but could you compare the two for me XD They both seem relitivly the same but I do know the timing belt was replaced at 95k on Storms van and thats very appealing! (did my timing belt on my car... holy... never again)

HI Kyle:
Problems area's include:

Timing belt w tensioner
Balancer drive belt w tensioner
Rad flushing
old rad hoses
Injection pump seals
Glow plug& controller issues
Sticking EGR Valves (I think remove it but not everyone agrees)
Water pump issues (cavitation holes in back plate common)
Bad thermostats
Loose frame bolts (just retighten them)
AC issues
Headlight issues (stock lowbeams suck)

When you think about the age of these vans its not surprising that we are running into the problems seen here. I'm sure there's stuff
I missed but if you buy a van thats had all or most of this looked after you will be ahead of the game. Service records from CVI on
the mainland or CC Auto's on the island would help if you buy one on the coast. In Alberta I haven't heard any one say where the
best service is to be found. Good luck with your search and remember L300's look way cooler.

Hi Audi4life,
Somewhere back in the annals Delica Canada is a thread regarding an open house at Amazing Autos where members of Delica Canada were invited to test drive one of the first L-400s to land in Canada. I couldn't make it to this engagement but I read the thread. The one post that stood out in my mind was by Marsgal who said that the major difference for her was that the L-300 drives more like a truck, where the L-400 drives more like a car.

Falco.

If you're used to your quattro all-wheel drive, you will love the L400 as it has the best of both worlds full-time all-wheel drive with selectable part-time true 4x4 high and low.

The L300 does not have the all-wheel drive option.

Falco's right.

The L300 drives just like a VW vanagon/westy while the L400 drives like a mid-sized newer pickup except it's quite a bit higher.

Visibility is excellent in both.

They are very different vehicles.

Pros and cons for both.

Just keep in mind that Audi allwheel drive fun you're used to is only available on the L400's.

I prefer the driving position of the L300 cabover but do not like the lack of power and many things that are standard on L400's.
