A few days ago, somebody at the traffic light knocked on my window and told me I have no brake lights at all. Very nice and kind of him to do that.

So, I replaced both light bulbs. Asked a neighbour to look at the lights, cause somehow, I am not fast enough to press on the brake pedal and run look at the lights myself, to see if they are on. Hmm... . Still no lights. Looked around the forums here, found the diagram about the fuse box, and replaced the 10A stop fuse with a spare one in the fuse box. Still nada.

So, now I am thinking that I might want to buy a new fuse and try again, hoping that the replaced one is just old. Any other ideas/suggestions, before I head to CVI?

As the general consensus appears to be that I do not know what I'm talking about, and cause more harm than good, I am removing this post so that others are not tricked in to following my ill-advised instructions.

look at the brake pedal and follow the arm up about 6 inches and you should see a round switch that it rests against until you press the pedal, there are 2 wires coming off of that can, disconnect them and use an ohm meter across the contacts while pressing the pedal, the resistance should drop to zero when you press the pedal. If not, remove that switch and either replace it, or do what I did which was open it up (carefully there are some small parts and a spring!) and clean it. After I cleaned the switch I never had any more problems.

Thank you for this one. Looked behind the pedal and found the problem - one of the cables leading to the round switch popped out. I put it back, and voila... all is well. Back on the road...
