Hey,
75w90 or "hypoid" as its most commonly referred to as, would be fine to run if front and rear differentials.

when you change your rear diff, being that it is a LSD, you need to put in the LSD additive available at most parts stores, lordco ,napa who ever, but its imortant that you put it in and its only $3-5 for it.

just a heads up, its a unpleasant experience. i found taking glue clamps to crush the fluid container worked the best. like 3 or 4 of em.
good luck! hopefully u dont get any fluid in ur face or mouth like i did!

what were you crushing and why? diff fluid comes in plastic bottle and the additive comes in a 250ml bottle...

The red sticker is an indication of an LSD diff but that does not mean yours is.
Jack up the rear and turn both wheels.
If they spin in opposite direction, it's an open diff.
If they spin in the same direction, it's a limited slip diff.
Like Noel said, use LSD additive with GL5 80/90 or put some LSD specific gear oil in there. It will howl less.

1 quick tip Riverdude,
Its always easier to change out the diff fluids if the oil is warm, especially if you are doing it in the driveway this time of year. Take your bus for a good run before starting.
Cheers

Watch out for the hot oil and plug your nose. Gear oil doesn't smell like roses.

put your bottles of diff fluid a pot of hot water, and when you fill your diff, put a foot of old garden hose or something similar, it can all be done in a few min, hmmm, but I guess, Ive always used the 1L bottles not the 4L's....
Good luck,

Canadian tire has a screw cap attachment for the bottles you
get. Has a long tube and on/off. I think it was 5$ Let's you
get the bottle higher and you can push the stuff into the diff's.
It was worth a couple of dollars for me when I did mine in October.
And yes, be prepared for a crappy smell, it's awful. Don't get it into
your clothes, it won't come out.
