SOS: Need Alternator in Calgary ASAP

Hi guys and gals. I have a 1991 Delica Exceed in need of an alternator in Calgary. I broke down here on Thursday, took it to a shop and was told that it was a dead cell in my battery (just bought a brand new one in canmore before driving to cowtown and breaking down), so I set out on my way back home only to break down a few minutes passed the shop. As I had originally suspected it was the alternator and now I am in desperate need of a replacement (supposed to be in salmon arm for a job interview on monday...lol). If anyone knows where I could get one or knows of a Deli parts supplier in Calgary I would greatly appreciate the info. My name is Steve and you can email me at
s_white02@hotmail.com or call my cell at 604-534-6308. Thanks (and thanks a ton for the tow madmazda!)

Suggestions and recommendations submitted via Skype. Good to speak with you Steve, hope you get up and running in a timely fashion.
The short answer is (for the others in the crowd): the alternator in these are not "magical" - a reputable alternator shop should be able to pull it out and rebuild it in a day or two. Usually it's the brushes, but it could be the diodes (again, they're not crazy-unique), or the windings (not very common, for any alternator).
And a hearty BZ to madmazda for the quick stop and a tow! I always knew there was something good about those L400 drivers.

Thanks for all the help guys! Looks like I'm going to going with a re-build on monday and possibly renting a car to make it to my interview or trying to reschedule. I'll keep ya posted on how things work out with my deli. Thanks again guys, delica owners are amazing!

The voltage regulator is known for kicking the bucket on this type of alternator if you've got even a remotely close to dead battery.

As I mentioned in the other identical thread, if there's anything I can do, let me know, unfortunately I don't have spare alternators lying around, however I am local in Calgary...
The main problem you ran in to unfortunately has nothing to do with where you are, but more to do with when you had issues, reputable shops are all closed on weekends, when something breaks on a Friday you are almost invariably stuck until at least Monday... it sucks.
