A couple questions, lug nuts and MPG.

I have a 94 SWB and I was wondering where I could find some locking lug nuts for it? I've tried lordco and crappy tire already. They have the right size, but the taper on the base of the nut is wrong. (the part that would be fitting against the rim) It should be flat, but it seems that there arnt any stocked. We checked every one they had at lordco in that size with no luck.
I suppose my next step is contacting a mitsu dealership to see if they have them, but Im sure they'll charge at least 60-90 for four bolts and Im sure someone knows of somewhere else to grab them for the usual price.
My second question is, what kind of MPG's, or KM's per tank are you guys getting with the 2.8 swb? Or even the LWB? It seemed that I could easily go 550ish per tank when I fist bought it, and now it seems to be getting closer to 450 even with proper maintenance. I recently fit 33's and of course that's dropped even more, but Im a little concerned about range on remote trips etc.

With my 94 2.8l LWB Pajero I get so far 22mpg Hwy (four people and luggage) and 18-20 city I have only had it 1 1/2 months so far that about what I have figured out. 600 per tank mixed city and hwy...
As far as the lug nut I dont know.......

I need a bump for the locking lug nuts!
Im nervous about leaving it overnight anywhere but home!
Also, the mileage isnt getting any better, worse in fact.. I used 7/8's of a tank and only got 280kms.... something is up.
Someone suggested the fuel filter? I havent noticed a loss in power, so Im not sure if that makes sence. But any help would be awesome.
My next guess will be maybe the injectors need cleaning or rebuilding? Anybody have experience with getting that done with the 4M40?
Thanks

If you tell Lordco/Canadian Tire it's a "Mitsubishi Montero" they might suddenly have more luck finding what you're looking for. Sorry, but even when shown the item they will have a hard time finding it. Or try "locking wheel nuts Mitsubishi Montero" on ebay - I got lots of hits, mostly out of England. Of course, if you've changed the rims (i.e. they are no longer stock or direct stock replacements) that may be why you're having a tough time finding the correct taper.
As for fuel economy, it's usually one of only a few things: the weight of your right foot, fuel filter, fuel injectors or the injection pump (I've ordered the list in the least-to-most expensive fixes). Air flow can be an issue, but that's usually more so for a gasoline-engined vehicle.

EDITED (thanks Jason)
12x1.5 is the lug nut size
cone shaped taper is standard on the Mitsu's
flat bottom lug nut is not normal. You must have a strange aftermarket rim/wheel

Lordco seems to know what a Montero is...
What about the Dodge Raider?

Funny, it was when I talked to them...
The Montero is a domestic vehicle, they know about all the domestics.

Major fail at PR. I know personally several people that would never buy from you based on the way you treat people on this forum, people see how you treat strangers and that is a good barometer to how you treat customers, sure you probably throw on a fake smile, right up until the cheque clears.
I want to understand you but I don't want the lobotomy that I would need to do it.

It's good to see KeiKing is back with his very own special style of online interaction. I'm going to get a bag of popcorn...

and what the hell is with posting a video at a crappy angle of you surfing this thread? I want to understand you but I don't want the lobotomy that I would need to do it.
1) I dont take checks, lol.
2)
I don't sit on the sidelines while people that claim to know everything post false/wrong information (I would feel guility if i didnt say anything)
3) What does the video prove?? Why dont you watch it and come to your own conclusion.

So you specifically asked for a different year than this person was looking for... (and I'm not sure what year Mitsubishi started importing the Montero to Canada, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was later than the years you chose.) The Canadian Tire near my place has no trouble finding 1994 Montero.
As for doing work myself, I've done quite a bit of it... you don't happen to be related to a certain idiot who was recently run off this forum who claimed I'd never lifted a wrench are you? seems quite the theme recently to ignore the many posts I've made about technical aspects of these vehicles and claim that I've never done any work on them! What is your beef with me anyway? you started picking fights with me as soon as I asked a question about a vehicle in one of your for sale threads, and haven't stopped yet, give it up already!
I'm sure there's also some comment to be made about someone who feels they need to make a U-Tube video of their call to Canadian Tire to prove a point...

Nothing against you personally but I can't sit on the sidelines while misinformation is constantly being posted on this forum.
Which work have you done? What part did you call Canadian Tire for? I want to call and see for myself.

I can now add this to the disucssion based on my research.
Canadian Tire in BC doesn't list montero. In BC you are better off tying Lordco.
Canadian Tire in AB can get montero parts but they order them in from a different supplier so chances are you are waiting longer and paying more. You are better off trying Napa?
