i noticed on my deli today that the angle of the filler cap looks difficult to fill the tank(its almost verticle). it looked like filling by gravity via jerry can would be messy and awkward.
i was looking at a way to fill the deli tank, without making a mess.

another thought is somekind of 12v pump to drop into a jerry can, or something.

Don't buy the canadian tire one that you linked. My dad had that exact one as a filler and the hose ripped like it was made out of paper.

You can go to a marine shop and get better filling gear. More costly, but will last much longer.

Or hit up Princess Auto. They'll have good stuff on the cheap.

I found that a 1L coke bottle with the bottom cut off on an angle works REALLY well, it stays in place all on it's own and is an easy target.

If you are filling from Cubes (Cubes are the 16 to 20 litre plastic bottle inside the cardboard box that oil comes in, many wvo folk pick up the used oil in the cube, then replace it into cube after the filtering proces), then you might try the lid that JayTardisDeli made.

Take a cube lid, buy a marine through hull fitting, drill a hole in the cube lid, insert the marine through hull (it is in 2 parts to screw together and sandwich the cube lid securely for dripless connection, wedge on a clear plastic hose (about a foot length) onto the threaded end of the fitting. Keep it in a plastic bag in your deli. Just attach it to the lid of cube you are using, pick up cube and hold it till it empties. Do need to turn it right sideup a few times to get air into the cube while emptying.

this looks like an option. Add a 12v rechargeable drill, and ur good to go!

Those Cdn tire pumps will die quickly with work needed to pump WVO, having used them for both vehicle WVO transfer and other fuel needs like empting an old oil tank. From years of trial and error, filling from clean and refilled cubes is the easiest, quickest and neatest.

X2, I made one of those filler caps from a self venting jerry can neck:

Just drill an appropriately size hole in a cubie lid feed the filler neck through and use a plastic washer drilled out of another cubie lid to hold the neck firmly in place while screwed on to the cube of WVO.

Hey Kevin, how do you went the oil during transfer? Looks like a clean design.

Wasn’t mine, just an image I googled. Mine was just the cap and the hose, and as long as you had the lid on straight, and didn’t get impatient while filling, and squeezing the jug too hard was a pretty neat fill.

The brass ball valve ties, in the picture, into something else would be my guess.
