L400 electric locks malfunction

Good morning all,

This morning when I went out to my van I was unable to unlock it using the keyless entry. The locks would unlock and immediately lock themselves again. I gained entry via the key lock on the sliding door. Once inside I attempted to unlock the vehicle using the driver side switch, same thing happened. I could see the door locks move to unlock and then return to the locked position. When I physically moved the lock on the door, it would no longer lock.

I'm not sure if the colder temperatures and wet weather had anything to do with it. I'll try it again later after it warms up. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this or had ideas to help me track down a solution.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane

It's the auto door lock mechanism.

Whether you're inside or outside or driving or not, after 10 seconds or so, the doors will lock automatically on their own.

With the remote, you have to hold down the unlock button (sometimes giggling it) for the doors to unlock. If the light doesn't come on, the connection between the remote and the doors doesn't happen.

Also, if any of the doors on the Delica is open even just a hair, the doors will not lock.

That's the immobilizer working.

Shoot me a PM or give me a call. I'll check it out. :M

Thanks Jesse,

It must have been either the rear hatch being slightly ajar or a combination of the cold and wet. It worked just fine in the afternoon and evening.
