im thinking of buying a hitch basket, but i need to know what kind of clearance they offer. i have a swing out spare tire carrier, and i wonder if it will be in the way of the cargo space on the basket. so if you have one, could you please measure the distance from the door to the edge of the basket nearest the door. adam posts about it here http://www.delica.ca/forum/simple-hitch ... tml#p20295

I've got the Princess Auto aluminum hitch basket. $159.00 (missed the sale in Aug for $119.00) Anyways, there is lots of room on my l400, but my spare is in its stock location. The front of the basket starts 8 1/2" from the centre of the pin hole, and the top of the basket is 7 1/2" above the top of the 2" reciever. Don't know if that makes any sense to you, but I hope it helps.

i think i get it.. thanks! if someone who has got the sportrack brand could offer the measurements as well, for comparison, i would be forever grateful
