I don't the jack nor wheel wrench. I do have a spare though! By the looks of things, the spare cradle is lifted and lowered by a crank located in the liftgate opening - correct?

Obviously I need to replace this stuff. Is the jack a standard scissor type? What's the load capacity? What is used to crank the works up and down?

The date on your post is the 16th. Here in vancouver, I think its still the 14th. Is this another one of those Liberal scams? Something to do the a pump and dump. I swear! That Gordo will go a mile out of his way for a shortcut.

Yup, there should be a large bolt head sitting on the door frame to the right of the latch bail that seems to have no purpose. Its purpose is to hold up the "J" camp that holds your spare cage up. Start un-winding that and it all becomes clear. Incidentally, that bolt is supposed to be the same size as your lug nuts.

Yeah so, my jack is an hydraulic and my stock little Candasian Tire hydraulic jack would also fit. I'm pretty sure you don't want to get a cross bar tire iron though because it won't fit in the jack cubby hole.

Also, get your spare off and actually check to see if it even fits on your car. I know someone who discovered, 50 Kms up the Harrison road, that her spare was in no way related to her car. Wrong size tire and rim and the rim was a 5 bolt anyway. Luckily, mine fit.

Conspiracy theories aside ;) thanks for the info. I had a look yesterday--'cause I can never get enough goosh falling into my eyes-- and the rubber and rim appear to be the right size, inflated, and intact. I'll crank it down and hose the mess out though. I suppose I could put one of my hydraulic jacks in the cubby hole with a couple'a blocks of wood for a little extra lift and support. Geesh it's starting to sound like a bra advertisement.

Its a while since I had a rummage in the little cubby but my recollection is that there was a bolt sticking up out of the floor and there was a matching hole in the stock jack, such that you could stuff the jack in there and screw it down tight. You might need a drill to get it all to work right.

That seems accurate, but in my case the bolt is gone. I can see the outline of where the old jack sat. Anyway I stuffed a hydraulic jack, piece of wood, and jack handle wrapped in a thick cloth to keep the rattles down. Should work fine.
