Hey all... new enthusiast here... from the okanagan.

I'm currently looking for a Delica for off roading and outdoor exploration.

As a newb, i was curious to know, from the experienced owners, what to look for while Delica shopping?
Are there any 'weak points' i should be looking at when shopping?

thanks all.

Hi and welcome!

Have you had a chance to look at the FAQ section? It has tons of information. As for buying, your choice to buy privately or from a dealer, just make sure it has been properly serviced (timing belts, water pump..)

They are very reliable trucks, the injection pump is a common culprit. Dealers like Mardy at Amazing Auto have good reputation but check for yourself on the dealers feedback post (just search for it).

Good luck, you'll have lots of fun!

Hi almac. Whereabouts in the Okanagan are you located? I'm one of the L300 Delicas running around Vernon (including the forestry roads on some weekends).

For Delica shopping, you have a few routes you can go (that I can think of...)
1. Get a turn-key, fully serviced Delica from Mardy (Amazing Auto Imports), Coombs Country Auto etc.
2. Import your Delica through an importer and then have it tuned once it gets here (this is the option I went with, using Zen Autoworks for the importing and Mardy for the servicing).
3. Import your Delica on your own and get it tuned once it gets here.
4. Or you could always browse the For Sale section of Delica.ca as well.

If you're interested, here are some local area photos of our Delica in action:

Anyways, if you find yourself around Vernon, PM me and we could arrange for you to check out our Delica as an example. It's not for sale or anything, but at least you can check it out :M
