Coldstart proplems

I got my Jasper last week 103000 km.It starts only after 10 times drying.My friend diesel mec.messured the compression and thinks its very low(300-310)glowplugs are ok. What can be done?Thanks for any help,Eddy.

define " 10 time drying"

could be a number of things. Try Butch at CVI. As far as I know, he's the best "Guru" in town.

By the way, where did you get your van from?? did they do the general maintenance(e.i. timing belt , thermostat ect.......) and do you have a garanty??? . P

Have you checked your battery(ies)? If they are the Japanese ones that came with the van then they could be really old. You might measure their voltage and see that they are at 12 volts and think "cool". But volts are only a measure of how fast they are delivering the amperage. Amps are where it's at. These engines (4D56T) have a compression of 23:1, not like gasoline engines that are 8 or 10:1. They require a great deal of amperage to turn them over. When I first got my van I once played the stereo for forty minutes with the engine off. When I went to start the engine......__________ nada ~ kaput; zilch; expired with a dying gasp. I got new batteries.

maybe your fuel filter is plug with water
or plug with dirt. maybe never been xhange before.
