New user and but not an owner yet

I'm seriously thinking about selling my 2007 Matrix and getting a low km Delica. I bought the Matrix for multi-purpose/reasons: every day/around town car, picking up clients (outreach counsellor), weekend camping and trips in the summer, good on gas (I live 50km from work... drive from Vernon to Kelowna every day), etc.
I'd love to get a Delica as a second vehicle but that's not in the cards for now. I'm wondering how the Delica stacks up? Obviously a MUCH MUCH better camping vehicle but how's the 2.5 turbo diesel for mileage? Is it a good around town vehicle? etc.
Any and all input is welcome.

BTW, nice to be here & hello to everyone. :-D

Great around town!!! Very maneuverable and great sight lines.
Hiway mileage and in town mileage is about the same for me.....20mpg range.

Hi there Remillard,
Nice to see another member in the Okanagan. If you're interested in sitting in one or going for a ride, let me know (send me a PM, if ya want). We live in Vernon as well! I commute too, but the other way...to Salmon Arm.

We love our Delica both on road and off. We haven't camped in it yet, but we look forward to trying out camping in it this spring/summer/fall. I agree with drrod, about 20 mpg and great in town. That short wheel base and sitting on the front tires make it easy to maneuver.

Hey Aaron, thanks for the generous offer! :) I'll take you up on that offer. You'll have to let me buy you a coffee or a beer some day next week perhaps. I don't plan on camping "in" the vehicle persay but it will get me to places I feel a bit uncomfortable taking my Matrix.
I went to you pics link and saw your drive to Oyama... VERY nice. That's what I'm talking about. :-) You really should (if you don't have it already) get a copy of the Backroads Mapbook (link: http://www.backroadmapbooks.com/index.p ... cts_id=188 ).

Yep, we have a backroads mapbook that gets used to plan out backroads trips...it never leaves the pocket on the back of the driver's seat! Once the snow goes away a little more, I'm sure we'll be heading up that way again. That trip along King Edward Forestry Road to Oyama Lake Forestry road and then back on highway 97 is a nice loop...it could also be a different way for you to make your commute once in a while :)

We should be around this weekend. I'll PM you my contact info and we can meet up for that coffee.
