Is there a north american oil filter that will fit my 2.5L Pajero that I can get from an autoparts store, or is this something that has to come from Japan?

Yes, and the search function is your friend... OR you can search the Delica.ca wiki...

Best - Baldwin BD28 (Union Tractor, Traction, Peterbuilt, etc)
Good - Wix 51067 ~ Napa 1067 (Available at NAPA, and other Wix Retailers)
Bad - FRAM-PH6355 (I would not recommend it)

Mardy, are you using the 4d56 filters for your 4m40 customers too? I did an oil change on my new truck yesterday (2.8L), and used a filter (Wix 51067) I had left over from my 2.5L. It fits, although the can is slightly shorter. Do you bring in a different filter, or use the same one?
Cheers
Phil

Thanks!! Price-wise, is it worth it to go Baldwin or Wix/Napa?
Anyways, good info to know if I'm travelling and don't have a filter handy.
You can't loose with either although Baldwin has a reputation of being the best in the diesel industry. Just avoid the Frams.
