So I have a vibration coming from the rear diff. Anyone here sourced any diff internal parts yet? I am guesseing I will get a full rebuild kit (all bearings and seals) It is for a 1991 pajero 2.5 diesel with 4.8 gearing. I know Jessie should know where to get parts as he had an air locker(I should have bought that... it would have given me most of my parts) Does the pajero share the same diff as a montero?

Gen I ?
or
Gen II ?
Gen I has the smaller diff in the rear.
Pajero is exactly the same as a Montero. Just different name. Everything swaps over confirmed by me, a mechanic and three Pajero's.
You can find Gen I Montero's (4 cylinder model.. not the V6) at wrecking yards.
Actually send garyo a PM. He may be able to help you out.

Gen 2 Pajero. So parts are the same as a 1992 montero then? I am guessing with the v6?

Gen 2 Pajero is the same as 1991+ Montero V6 and SR/Sport models.

As long as it has the 3.0L. The 3.5 Montero has a larger diff, Doug... you should be able to use a diff up to about 95 (I think after this they stopped bringing in the 3.0L to North America).

Well I puled the rear diff oput and the axles. No internal problems. So while I was at it I changed the rear brakes. I couldnt find a new o ring for the rear outer oil seal so I reused it. I will take the driveshaft into dsi this week and get it balanced. Hopefully this solves the problem.
