I saw this on craigslist in Vancouver

Something odd about it.

1993 yet it's a dual sliding door and pre-91 headlight assembly = wrong year ? VIN ?

If anyone goes to see it, I would be interested to see what the VIN # is on it to compare the year/model.

Pretty neat though.

If it's LHD, that means it's not from Japan, which would make me wonder if it had as well maintained over the years as Japan makes owners take extreme care of their vehicles.

it came from taiwanm also its not leather it has a cheap vinyl seat,
cheaper model as this came from taiwan. they never produced good & quality seat.
not like the japan delica its very good.

How do you know it's from Taiwan? Just because it is LHD with dual sliding doors or do you know this Delica? Just curious.

LHD's were not available in Japan and the interior / body panels are different.

They are conversions done in Taiwan.

I called on it this week to check.

Mardy is dead on - it is from Taiwan. The seller said that his Uncle owns a body shop in Taiwan and converted it. I think this explains the "mixed" heritage on the body that Jfarsang points out. The double sliding doors were done at the shop - they took the door section of a stock LHD L300 (which is on the opposite side of Japanese Delicas) and mated it to an RHD Delica. They also flipped the steering wheel over with the remaining parts.

If the work was top quality it would be a pretty neat gig - a double slider Delica would certainly be handy... it rocks on other minivans that have it. That said, the work doesn't sound top rate and honestly the van doesn't look it either.

They also have a bunch of LHD Delica conversions in the Philippines - just dig around online. You can tell they are all conversions because the sliding door is still on the left side. If it was a factory job the slider would be on the passenger side (right in the case of a LHD).
