So after seaching for a good heater for my centrifuge single tank wvo system. I found this one on e-bay.com . I found nothing on e-bay canada. it is a Briskheat brand heater made in the usa.

this one is good for steel barrels but they have one that is good for those of you with poly drums as well. For $125 i am very happy.It has a thermostat built in and can go from 10-218c. The quality is very nice.

Now i just need to tap through the bottom of the drum somehow and build a stand for my pump and motor.

If you are going to be drilling holes in your tank why not go with a 1500W hot water tank heater for $15. I have one installed in each of my settling barrels.

I saw the power consumption in amps required for the 1500 watt heater and thought it would be too much for my single circuit in my garage. I need to run the motor and the heater and the lights in the garage and i did notwant to be poping the breaker.
Also i was not sure how to get a water (oil) tight seal with the water tank heater drilled into the bottom of the tank.. I guess i need some help and a well equiped shop to really make this work well. I want it to look clean as well.
I guess i could run a suction line from the top of the barrel down to the bottom and avoid drilling and welding on the drum at all.......

What design are you planning on using for the centrifuge? The best one I've seen in action is the sunwizard setup:


It takes seems to take 3-4 hours of running to get all the gunk and water out of the oil. A much more elegant solution than my filter setup, but it does require two 1500W hot water heating elements to get the oil up to temp. Combined with the power for the pump you'd be poping circuits if it was all hooked up to one 120V outlet.

This is the setup I'm building now, just as an fyi I believe you can just use the one heater if you plug it into 240V but should have 2 for 120v.

The working unit I saw would not get up to temp with only one 240V heating element. A second 120V element was added to get the oil hot enough. Is your unit operating yet?
