I don't want to cause grief but is mdrive rubbing anyone else the wrong way? First he blatantly posts in locations he is not supposed to, then he has the audacity to be disrespectful to another vendor(who posted in the correct location). Is there any type of reprimand available for this type of thing. Again not trying to cause any grief(well not to much anyways).

I suppose the answer to your question would be best coming from a Forum Moderator.
By the way, who is/are the forum moderator(s)?

administrator is mark.

Things are growing quickly enough that a moderator or 2 for each section wouldn't be a bad idea.

As this is a small community it may be best to keep these types of issues to PMs, so it can be dealt with quickly and privately.

so, now you know who to PM, mark.

The forum is growning pretty quickly and I think it needs moderators on top of things/sections of the site. What I have seen done on other forums is that the moderators just move posts into the correct section and any disrespect, shit talk etc is simply deleted.

What everyone needs to remember is that this is a community and also that we are all guests here. Online communication is also not so easy, its easy to read something differently than what was intended.

Its just a learning process and the rules and regulations just need to be communicated and enforced. Its hard for one person to do though but sounds like Mark has deputized certain people for sections and I guess this will continue to happen in order to manage the community.

Some dealers like Mardy and Glenn have been very good about offering help by way of sharing info. Others are taking advantage of this site by using it as a means of advertising.

I'm glad to see others take exception to this entirely unacceptable behaviour and have brought it to the attention of the moderator[s]

Couldn't agree more! I noticed the pointed remark in another thread and actually found it quite offensive and hypocritical...

Again - I second that...

CCAuto's (Glenn) and Mardy Delica selflessly hand out info/advice and help where possible instead of solely and blatantly advertising their skills and expertise in the form of sales pitches at every opportunity!

If I end up moving to BC ( ) then either/both of these kind people will certainly be in line for fixing/mending/servicing my P&J any day over someone who HAS TO SHOUT to try and drum up sales! Doesn’t work with me – and in fact creates the opposite effect!

I'm off to drink a nice cup of tea to try and remove this bad taste from my mouth! :?

Regards,

Bruce.

My rule-of-thumb has been to allow posts to stay up so long as: (a) they are properly categorized; and (b) the posts have a reasonable chance of being of interest to delica.ca members.

Some of the best contributions to this forum have been from members who also happen to be dealers. There has never been any doubt in my mind that guys like Glenn and Mardy are keenly participating as members first

The trouble arises when other members (no names mentioned) view this forum as a cheap way to deliver splash advertising.

Ironically, these bothersome posts can actually help our members distinguish between “the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” For a new (or prospective) owner considering doing business with a specific member of this site, I would recommend using this forum’s “Search” utility to gage how much insight that user shows through his posts. If more than half of his posts are ***!!!BORING SPLASH ADVERTISING!!!***, this type of conduct makes the decision that much easier.

While an annoyance, these bothersome posts ARE providing us with a valuable service!

Well said, I agree 100%

I wouldn't mind not wading through the same posts in different sections though. I see you've already cleaned it up so its all good.

I am primarily a repair shop and I do post here in the hope that I will gain buisness from fellow Delica owners . I do not hesitate in giving out free advice or technical help to anyone needing it . I even supply free advice to the Mitsubishi dealer in Nanaimo (who seems to have a hotline direct here) . I do however refuse to post information that can be used by other `dealers` in the interest of profit . I started in the JDM by being a service shop and have now gotten more involved with importing and preparing vehicles . I find it very poor on the part of one particular `dealer` here that seems to have a lot of DRIVE on badmouthing everyone else to try and increase his market . Some people contribute , some do not , some abuse this . We should maybe try silencing abusers and leave everyone else to their own buisness !!!!

Glen your behavior and support for our community is much appreciated! Your involvement with each of us has been great; would have been even better if you'd made it to the Delica meet. :P You'd have had a blast, see you at the next meet.

Other business active on the forum that show poor manners only do themselves, and their business, a disservice. It would be a loss, not a gain for there business.

Kev - still want Glen and my fuel pump to spend some quality time together.

Mark,

Not to put too fine a point on this but mdrive acts like an idiot, notice I'm not trying to be too politically correct here!!!!

Pls give him a formal warning with respect to his behavior (I would say strike two).

Um, I may have posted my question in the wrong forum... but I think enough people are bringing it up. Just wondering if there is a limitation on bothersome people before they get their privledges revoked?

Thanks for the wonderful work you moderators all do!
Keep it up.
