Delica Canada | Mitsubishi Van Club

Just bought our first Delica yesterday from 5 Star Motors in Parksville! A '93 Super Exceed (yet to be named). I went to get a spare key made today and was not able to have one cut. Has anyone experienced something similar? Thanks!

Crapy Tire

Canadian tire had no trouble cutting a spare key, Home depot was not able to do so.

Home Depot...Got lucky on the first try figuring out the best key type to go with.

I had no luck at the local mitsu dealership. THe last one they ordered was 2 years ago. Crappy tire did not have a clue what key i needed or how to find ,out and home depot was no use. Finally i went to a local locksmith that carries hundreds of key blanks in stock and it took the guy 30 seconds to find me the right blank !! So i had an adventure ! 2 keys $7.00 taxes incl. Plus one hour driving everywhere first.

Funny about keys. I had keys for a Skyline and a Mitsubishi GTO cut at Canadian Tire in Kelowna. The person who did it was experienced. The Skyline key I had been told was very hard to get. It was made from a blank labeled Subaru! The Delica blank on the other hand he couldn't find. When I was at CVI in Richmond, Butch sent me to a place around the corner (Keys West I think) and the guy there looked and compared until he found the right one. They had a lot of blanks.
Bonus, his debit machine wouldn't connect to the bank, after several tries he told me to get out of there.

I went to Crappy Tire and got a mitsubishi key cut and it doesnt work that well.
Butch at CVI knows of someone in Richmond that cuts the right key!

Mine are the blanks from a Dodge Colt - the ignition key is a tad shorter but still works. The problem I was having was finding a blank with the recess cut on the opposite side.

Hahaha...... The guy froze like a deer in the headlights When My vehicle was not in his little book Of keys and part numbers !! He was all flustered And telling me ...."oh man i just don't know. If it's not on this key chart i don't know how to find it man...."

Had the same problems. Canadian tire and Home Depot couldn't cut a key for my Delica. Went then to Locksmith on Broadway and he cut a couple of good working spare keys for a few bucks within a minute.

Anyone looking for spare keys in the Kamloops area Brown's Locksmith on Lansdowne has lots of blanks and can cut from your key # if necessary.

Don't tell them you've got a 'Delica' right at the start, you'll only fluster them. Start with Mitsubishi, and then when they get close, show them the key. Most of the books list a 'generic' key which will fit most models of a particular company's vehicles.

For whats its worth. Go to a pro and pay an extra buck or two. They dont have problems only solutions. (no I dont cut keys for a living).
