Nice job so far. Did you figure out a filling assembly for the tank?

I'll be using some ABS 1.5" sewer line that'll come up in the back and go over to the wall on the inside... not the prettiest solution but it'll do.

Just curious where people are planing to get all their WVO from... or is it a secret finite supply hehe. I was wondering if used oil from local fast food restaurants is usable

any restaurant that has a deep fryer, or if your ambitious you could get it from a factory that makes potato chips or something like that but the more oil a place uses the more likely that they are getting paid for it from a large Bio-diesel producer. or you can grow your own algae, you can get about 77,000 litre per acre per year that way :).

I'm getting mine from a busy restaurant in downtown Vancouver, a staff member pours it back into the cubes it comes in and I pick them up. You're best bet it to get in with the staff, don't bother with corporate or management, or if you get a pump, hose and containers you can dumpster dive grease bandit style.

Nice work, was the electrical more challenging than expected or pretty straight forward. I like the location of the switches...

Pretty straightforward, but I have a bit of experience with electronics and automotive wiring. The switch location is pretty good, however I used to have a small laptop sitting there for playing music but that's been replaced by an iPod, so I would have chose somewhere else, but it all worked out. The location makes it easy to wire into ground and "run" power (on only when power windows work) so you won't accidentally leave the vegtherm on. The only hiccup I ran into was the amount of wire included in the kit - I picked up a spool of black wire to do my ground runs and I had just bought some heavy gauge yellow wire to repair some rotten wires in the mercury outboard, so I used some of that for the battery -> circuit breaker connection and the included wire for circuit breaker -> relay. I used slightly different locations for the relays (to keep access to the priming pump on the filter clear) and circuit breaker than shown in the instructions, so that's probably why.
Something I've noticed since hooking up the plumbing is that sometimes when I give it the normal 1/2 second crank to start it, the engine stalls right after it starts... I suspect a small air leak, or maybe some air sneaks in through a valve since there's no oil in the veg tank yet.
Final step will be installing the filler.

What is the second switch for?

I have heard too many stories about people wrecking their engines that way. Talk the staff into giving oil because then you know what the contaminants are, water and crispy bits. Anything can be thrown in the dumpsters.

One controls the supply valve and the electric heat, the other chooses between the diesel return and looped return.

OK, so I know this guy... He wants to get a WVO kit but hasn't got the time and would probably screw it up if he did. He has asked me to ask someone on this list if they know of someone who would be interested in doing the install for him and how much they would charge me....I mean him.

Never mind, my friend just saw that there are instalations available for $800.
Thanks.
I'll remind him to read more posts before asking questions prematurely.

Congarts on the install, looks good.
Did you find the air leaks?
