I am selling a used set(4) of Thule 953 towers with rubber foot guards and locks keyed the same. They are in good condition and all you need are the load bars and you have a good rack system. I am asking 225.00 OBO.

The one I have are on the short side so the bars across may at some point touch the roof if heavy loaded so I'd be interested in something else.

Hello

That doesn't look like the towers I have. I just measured it and it is 11 inches from the bottom of the rest to the top of the slot for the bar. Following the curve of the inside it measures 11 inches from the bottom of the gutter mount to the bottom of the slot for the bar. It provide plenty of clearance, I have a second set myself and I feel that the supply enough clearance for the load I feel comfortable putting on the rack.

hey david, if you are looking at selling your, I'm interested!!

Won't sell until I find something better. The advantage with those is that they are very low profile (close to roof) but not sure if too close. I've had mine mounted for who knows how long and there's no scratch/dents on my roof. I'd like something similar but a little heavier duty (and not too tall). I'll have to go check how 11" looks like.
