Hello,

I am a new member and will be getting my Delica on Wednesday. I am very excited!

My question to the board is what recommendations do you have speaker, stereo, amp wise in terms of where to buy, what brands and what size speakers (I think there also might be 6 speakers?).

Any thoughts or ideas would be welcomed!!!

If yours is a Super Exceed then it should have 6 speakers, otherwise it is 4 on a stock van. If you are near North Van then I would use Performace Car Stereo on Pemberton Ave.

http://www.performancecarstereo.com/

They always have been really professional there.

i had my four hertz speakers and my clarion deck put in by those guys, cost me overr 600 and didnt sound that great and now my deck wont even turn on so i have no sound system. Id say if you know of some where else that does a good job go there before performance.
(they were really nice there though)

Some Super Exceeds only have the 4 speaker system, it appears the rear "audio-stage" (karaoke unit) was another factory option that not all of them have, if you have that however you will also have the extra pair of speakers in the ceiling above the rear tailgate (very obvious if you have them)

The A&B sound installer at Capilano Mall has deli's totally down to a science. He figured mine was his 20th or so. They have the dodge colt harness in stock and I bought my Clarion deck there but went with stock speakers. Sound is good enough for this old guy. I did get a remote as reaching accross to the face plate is a pain - the remote can be left in the tray near the switches for the window and allows for changes to station presets or between radio and Ipod or CD without taking the eyes off the road. Funny thing was I never thought about the use of a remote - but now I love it...highly recommended for the deli on whatever deck you end up purchasing.
Good luck!

hard to find a stereo WITHOUT a remote these days... I love my remote too, but for a different reason, I leave it in the back of the vehicle so I can use it without having to reach the front seats when camping/etc.

I don't know the size (I think they are 4"? but I could be wrong) there is room in any high roof delica to fit them, but not in the low roof models.

Having my Clarion deck installed by A&B here in Edmonton on Wednesday. I wanted to go reasonable but when selecting the components for the Delica I felt compelled to go overboard with new speakers, amp and an Ipod ready deck. Its going to be like a Diet Pepsi commercial (back in the 80's) with me driving off the parking lot with Triumph "Lay it on the Line" blasting out of the thin tin walls of the Delica. I like my music hard and my women skinny! Woooooooo!
Ouch....I think I hurt something

Took the '01 Alpine Japanese stereo out of my van (the display no longer worked so had no idea what was going on). Took a stereo ('07 Alpine) from one of my other bus and was quite happy to see they used the same plug/harness so didn't have to fuss with it.

The real surprised was that the remote that came with the old Japanese stereo worked perfectly with my newer stereo! Saved myself $50... And I keep it in the front unless camping, common sense I guess?!?

So don't throw it out until you tried it! :-D

Greetings CRF 250 X,

I had my system installed by Performance Car Stereo at the bottom of Pemberton Avenue in North Van, I was very impressed and any time I have an issue, they are more than happy to help me. They have been true to their word and if the issue has been their fault they have done it at their own expense.

I agree with 39Ronin that they are very professional, I am a tradesman myself and I have noted that Performance Car Stereo have kept to their word and the work they have done has been very thorough and detailed. With the sort of system I have installed (not just a stereo), they have been very creative and unlike some other car stereo places ~ they had no interest in charging me more "because it is a right hand drive". Ask them about their security systems when you go to interview them, if you don't need something they will tell you, too.

The guy I did most of my dealings with is called "JP" ~ and if you ask him a question that he doesn't know the answer to ~ he will get back to you after he researches it. I am so impressed with these guys. Their service is exemplary.

Falco.
