L400 - needing some suggestions

Hey all.

I've finally got my ban back from a rebuild and couldn't be happier

Now onto fixing some of the minor annoyances. Hopefully with some of your help. Couple things in no peticular order.

1- dash lights. My SRS and parking brake light are illuminated at about 5% brightness all the time. You can only see them in the dark. Photos attached with the parking brake on for reference. I'm thinking there's some voltage bleed somewhere but figured I'd ask here before starting to dig for that.

On this front as well the seatbelt like will occasionally flicker on and off. Probably not related and is a bad connection somewhere else.

2 - Drivers window. Rolls down great, doesn't always roll up with out some assistance. The auto up/down end stops seem to be not existent. Ie it keeps trying to run. Could these be related or am I expecting to just replace the motor and mechanism?

3- rear door button. Years ago the door close sensor failed as they do. So it's wired to always show closed. Has anyone put in a new button? Or retrofitted the one from the latch? Would love to get this working again.

4- remote locks. Has anyone replaced the fobs with a new system and kept the double press to roll up / down the windows and sunroof? Love the feature but would also love something that works all the time and from more then 15 feet max.

If you can help I appreciate it. Probably going to start diving into some things over then week or so. Also have some Hopefully fun projects to replace the rear fluro with some led dimables, both red and white. Anybother quality of life upgrades you can recommend?

Hey John,

That looks spot on. I think I'll be taking your approach and drilling and taping the piece. Do you remember what product you got from can tire to pour with?

I took the motor out today to investigate and as soon as any torque is required it just slips. Thinking this might be a Saturday kinda problem.

New question.

My rear door has been sounding like gravel is in it for awhile now.

I got a new back latch from aliexpress for about 30 bucks and decided it was time to tackle that. I found a bunch of rigid foam like material has let go from the door. It connects the outer shell to the ribs. Assuming at some point this was a softer cushioning material.

Any idea what to replace it with? Some kind of Silicone?
