Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Auber Digital Boost Gauge

Post by murdermitten »

Hi Everyone-

I have purchased an Auber digital boost gauge that I intend to install alongside my Auber EGT gauge:

I'm wanting to clear up a few things before I start wiring stuff up and get in over my head.

Based on previous threads, I'm going to splice into the vacuum line/pressure hose (or add a small section of new hose from the IP (any reason not to just cut the original pressure hose?) that runs directly over the engine valve cover.

I'll add a t-connector then use another small piece of hose to run to the Auber sensor shown below:

Wiring the sensor itself will be pretty straightforward, it's just splicing and running the tubing that I want to make sure I get right the first time.

Weirdly it says the sensor only takes 5A? Is it that the digital gauge itself reduces the voltage (it is a 12V DC gauge)

Thanks guys,

Eric

I assume you mean 5V and not 5A. Automotive sensors commonly use 5 Volts. The gauge reduces the supply voltage to the sensor to 5 Volts.
I like these gauges. I gave 2 in my van and plan to add 2 more.

Hi 204Explorer, thanks for the insight, I looked again and yes it says 5V, so no worries there!

You said you have 2 Auber gauges? Did you install this one? Curious what the ones you have are...I love them too!

Thanks,

Eric

I have two of the round ones. I like them a lot. I wish they would dim more at night. I attach a pic when i get to my van.

Here is what my setup looks like. The open spot is for a blue coolant temp gauge. You can see the alarm light and buzzer i wired to the gauges. Also from Auber.
