Hey - I'm in the market for an L400 low roof, short wheel base. 95 or 96 with the bushbar. Current L300 owner with van likely to be written off after an ICBC accident.

Has anyone every experienced any issues with the L400 sunroof leaking? I'm in Vancouver, it rains a lot. Sunroof seems like more problems than benefits but found a L400 that ticks all the boxes except for the sunroof.

I haven't personally had much experience with L400 sunroo..ves? ..fs? ...but I've pulled a few apart in the wrecking yards, and they seem to be largely the same as the L300 setup. As for L300: Most sunroof "leaks" are caused by a clogged drain. The seals aren't really seals (they're just wind noise stoppers) and rain will come inside, and from there it's directed to the gutters and drain holes in the sunroof surround.

Unless there's rust in the gutters, they should be fine. I'd open the sunroof, stand in the aperture, and look for any rust. And then for any leafves or dirt clogging the drain holes.

We've had our L400 for a few years now and never had any leaks. Granted, we're in Winnipeg, not BC, but it's been good so far.
