Looking for info on if you can convert a 4x4 auto into a 2wd by removing the transfercase and purchasing a tailshaft/housing off of a 2wd something.
Please. Any info would be great

In theory, yes. The auto transmission used in an L300 Delica is an Aisin-Warner 03-72L, the same basic unit is used in various other vehicles: Mitsubishi call it a V4AW2, Dodge call it an AW372 or KM148, Toyota call it an A44D. It's theoretically possible to find a 2WD tailshaft housing from something else, fit it, and make up a driveshaft to suit. I'd start by looking at Mitsubishi vehicles though, you might get lucky and find a driveshaft that fits without modification.

An easier way would be to leave the transfer case in place and just remove the front driveshaft. You could disassemble the transfer case and remove the drive chain if you were paranoid about it.

What specifically are you trying to achieve?

Innovative! Usually it's the other way round- people want to swap something better into the Delica. I'm sure you have your reasons, perverse as they may be. :-)

I have a spare engine trans and transfer case. I also have an old 1958 ford zephyr. vans healthy want to build an old cruiser, not chasing speed. this motor is spec wise the same as the factory engine out of the car so rat build begins.
