Hi There,

The Delica Trader section seems to have a bunch of irrelevant ads in it. Is this spam?

I also noticed when you try to use the most recent ads buttons at the top a bunch of random content comes up. :o

I'm not sure how much you can change this area but to be able to search/sort by province and date of would be great!

Cheers
C

The site works fine the last time I looked at it. DT is Mark's baby, I'll pass on a message to him. Thanks for the notification, Mum.

Falco.

It seems there are lots of OLD ads which can't be active since 2012?

THE SITE NOW IS ASKING FOR PASSWORDS WHICH IS A GOOD IDEA. I'VE TRIED MY EXISTING PASSWORD AND IT DOESN'T WORK. ALSO SAYS IT MAY BE MY BROWSER. I'M USING THE GOOGLE BROWSER.
ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS PROBLEM?

It's working now for the moment. We have issues with spammers and the platform is limiting us to what we can do. Currently the plan now is to formulate a new plan. Sorry for any inconvenience, we're working on it.

Hi everybody. Mark has had to shut down DT again (temporarily). Script on the site has been hi-jacked to send out spam (all those lovely FIFA ads). Sorry for any inconvenience ~ we're working on it.

Just an update: Mark may have found a suitable alternative platform in which to launch DT. We'll keep you posted.

Hi all -

Delica Trader is now back up and running under a new platform (Open Classifieds).

Unfortunately, I have not yet figured out how to import all of the photos linked to the older ads. (photos are clearly an important selling feature for any vehicle ad), but hope to have this fixed soon.

New ads will be able to accept up to 8 photos each.

Ads are set to expire after a 90-day period.

I will be adding some improvements in the upcoming days.

Cheers,
Mark

I like the look of your new system Mark and hopefully it will save everyone from the Spammers. Your other comment on the 90 day turnover will be great as well. Now all you need to do is add the Mitsuflags to your decal ordering sheet!!
Great work we appreciate the effort!! :-D

Thanks Larry -

I'm sure that with a new ads management system we'll encounter a few hiccups and potholes, but so far am optimistic that this will be an improvement over the old system.

Cheers!
Mark!

Hi Mark:

Just a quick comment on the new Trader after a few months. I think what you've done is great!! I noticed some obvious spam a few times and it was gone almost immediately. Must be easier to get rid of and they only show up once -- great. It's also nice to see the old ad's disappear if the seller doesn't relist. Keep up the good work.

Larry

Hey Mark DT looks good, didn't see any spam.
I couldn't center the pages though. Some of the info can't be read on the right hand side.

Thanks guys for the feedback on the new DT.

I was doing a manual "spam-purge" daily - that strategy worked, but was abit too time consuming for me.

I've since reconfigured DT so that new ads require the poster to configure by e-mail AND must be pre-approved before they actually appear on DT. This strategy requires an extra step to post an ad (must confirm e-mail), but hopefully will end the spam problem on DT.

Cheers!
Mark
