L400 Crystal Lite Roof.. what's in there?

Has anyone peeled the roof liner out? .. I have 2 issues.

1st. One of the motors will only move a rear blind a 1/4 closed.

2nd. I'm mounting cabinets and don't want to drill mounting screws into a track system or even worse the electrical!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have a Space Gear but one place you could start is the shop manual in the L400 Dedicated Category Reference Forum (see board index).

Shortly after posting this I had a look through there.. I think this weekend I'll peel the cover out and take some pictures. I need some sturdy mounting points and the manual isn't showing where the wires are run or where it's solid. Simply, how to remove it.

Wish me luck :-D

Another place you could look at is the Delica FAQ Section. In there is a thread called "Useful Links For Vehicle Identification Purposes". One link is JDM Online Catalogue. With this link you enter your chassis number into the Mitsubishi field and click enter. What should appear is a file on your Delica, including all the OEM parts numbers that came stock with your wagon but there are no pictures. However, also in that thread is another link to partsbase.org/mitsubishi/jp/. You can find your model in there, which has exploded views and you can correlate the numbers with your wagon's parts numbers to confirm you are on the same page, as it were. This might give you some insight to the inner workings of your crystal lites.

Much appreciated Falco!

So I opened it all up.. the rear(larger portion) came loose relatively easy with shop manual parts diagram order of removal. The tough part was the front (As it was listed first to remove and I obviously did is second thinking it didn't have to be done at all). Anyhow, I found a metal rod was jamming the slider on the rear blind (sunshade). Fitted back in place and it works like new!

Then I fixed a 3/4" metal strip in between the (driver side) blinds (And one in between the front crystal lite and the roof vent) to secure some upper cabinets to.

The whole process took me about 5 or 6 hours.. 3 of those were mucking about with the mounting hardware. From what I've read online, any blind or sunshade with movement can be fixed without any replacement parts. If it doesn't move or make any noise, I think the motor would be fried and you're outta luck.

Here is what it looks like without the lining.

I'd love to see pics of the cabinets you're mounting in there...

Should be installing them later this week.

My girl is an interior designer and drafted it all up in Autocad, then she convinced a millwork company do her a favor so it should turn out pretty frickin awesome!

I'll be sure to post some for yah
