EGR blanking plates for the L300 or L400.

Recommend 0.25 inch steel plate. You can fabricate these yourselves quite cheaply by heading down to the metal supermarket and buying some mild plate steel, hardened steel not necessary. Use an angle grinder and some drills. Print the PDF of your choice, either metric or imperial. Remember to set the "Page scaling" to "NONE" in Adobe Acrobat. Un-click the checkbox "Choose paper source by PDF page size".

Check the scale by measuring the square in the upper left corner with your calipers. Cut out the template with scissors and spray glue it onto the steel plate. Mark the outline and holes with a sharpee pen. Cut out the shapes then install. I sealed mine with high heat silicone and OE gaskets. Good luck.

Oh, one quick question: what type of gasket material is recommended here? Or do we just run a thin bead of hight temp gasket maker?

Cheers,

Many folks have reported that the high-heat silicone eventually fails. I used OE mitsubishi gaskets which are not cheap. Other alternative is to make your own gaskets by cutting up a piece of generic gasket sheet material, like the ones included in this kit: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/EGR-BLANKING-PLA ... Xb&vxp=mtr
