Hey Guys,

I've been ghosting around here for a long while and have finally got my van, Bought in Vancouver last week from Rising Sun.
A white 97 super exceed L400. Can't wait to drive it to Calgary in April.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the info I've already learned on this adventure.

Kurtis

People aren't so fond of gen II it seems? I know the computer scares people a bit. Is there something I missed reading about or other things to watch out for?

Also the injection pump seal has already been done already.

Looks pretty clean, there is some small cosmetic damage where someone botched a roof rack install and mucked the trim a bit.

Maybe we'll cross paths, don't see many Gen 2's.

As for the fear factor. It has something to do with the electronic fuel system. Not many techs know how to fix em. They can replace seals fine enough but the Gen 2 needs a specific MUT II code reader to do an effective Code Read from the OBD II plugin. North American OBD code readers don't work on Mitsu's and the MUT system is very pricey....well over a grand for the cable and reader box.

Aside from that the Gen II are solid.

I'm sure we will cross paths. If not might just have to go get a coffee.

I wonder if this would work on our vans, http://ftowa.com/html/workshop/workshopart07.html

Not necessarily a perfect solution but would definitely help in diagnosis of an issue.

Can't wait to get it home

Yeah that would be helpful, slow as heck but better than nothing I suppose.

I am going to borrow my cousin's Snap ON unit and the MUT translator. This should prove interesting..He's a Snap-On dealer and is sure it will read codes.

Check the forum for the Calgary Tech night I am hosting....looking like it will be April 25th. I will not be posting the address online. PM with address will be sent to confirmed attendees a few days prior.

You wanna know more about L400's and L300's? Then try and attend. Should be a good event, you can watch me replace front suspension parts on my Gen 1 L400. PRobably gonna change the fuel filter as well.

Slow is better then nothing ;)
I would be curious how the snap on unit goes to be fancy.

I did already reply to the tech night thread. Looks like I
should even be able to attend.

Very nice van! I really like that style of front-end treatment on the Gen II.
You can also add me as one more Delica on the streets of YYC, should be here sometime in May after a transpacific trip and some TLC on the coast.

I was looking for a gas, LWB, with the crystal roof and decent mileage, and I just found it this week.
Bonus points to anyone who can tell me what those silver circles are above the Mitsubishi name on the bullbar
