So i'm having some weird issues - wondering if someone might be able to help??

Currently i have no:
Tail lights
head lights
dash lights
clock (occasionally) (both the clock and stereo sometimes power off when i push the brake?????)

So after checking the fusable link by the battery, it was blown so i have replaced it. still not working.... tested the fuses in the fuse box - curious?!? fuse are not blown but i am getting no power to the upper and lower head fuses. are there any other links or fuses between the battery and the fusebox? I'm pretty sure they should be getting power? where to from here?

any help greatly appreciated! :o

Adrian

In the battery compartment You facing towards the back in the left corner are two white plugs Coming from the fusible link box .Check there connectors i've seen quite a few of these go bad .Its a bit of o pain to get at them you will probaly have to pull out the batteries to get at them. Good luck and may the force be with you Cheers Jay

sorry, bit of an car electrics newbie here, but I have the same/similar issue with my rear running lights and dash lights not working. how do I determine if my connectors have gone bad?

"Coombs Country Auto", over the phone says that a multi switch will solve all my problems? ($175, if I can get a used one)

-thx guys

Do your running lights/dash lights come on when you turn on your foglights,if so then you probaly will need a replacement headlight switch .

Hi all,

We are having a similar issue with our L300 (http://www.delica.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17199).

All fuses okay...research we've done leads us to believe maybe fusible links are our problem ?! We looked at the wiring schematic but still aren't sure which links we should be looking at or how to test them using our multimeter.

We also pulled up our carpet in the front and can see a yellow wire that's severed...can't seem to see where it should go ?

Could someone pretty please help us out...lack of tail and dash is driving us a little insane !!!! Also of note is that our aftermarket PIAA fog lights are shot too.

Cheers,
A-Team

First what exatly is not working and what is working ? Highbeams? lowbeams? Markerlights?Stereo? Clock? Dashlights? Yellow wire is bot factory it could be part of your nonfuctionong PIAA foglights .

Thank you so much for your reply Overlander Jay,

Sadly our previous issue (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16996&p=128294&hilit=ateam#p128294) morphed into another issue...well we assume they are related. Our headlights have been working since our last fix of the combo switch but we have somehow killed our park lights, fog lights, dash lights and tail lights. We switched out the third fuse for a new one and the tail lights worked for 2 minutes before dying again (fuse not blown).

We've had a little look around but as we explained before, we are not electrically-gifted and are pretty stumped as to what we are looking at. There is two wires coming from under the steering column that used to be attached to the steering column cover (and are no longer attached - please see photo) - we thought these might be a ground ?! Can't seem to get them reconnected to test our theory though...damn those teeny tiny little holes in the plastic connector.

There is also a loose green wire with white stripe behind the glove box...can't seem to see where the connector would plug into / have no idea if this could be related to our problems....we read a post a while ago about a green wire which was the power source for the dash, tail and stereo....not sure if this is the same wire...refer photos.

Our aftermarket PIAA fog lights aren't working either....and the switch doesn't even have power.

Any help/direction very much appreciated.

Cheers,
A-Team

This may seem bizarre but if you have a trailer light converter unhook it and see if your problem disappears. When they get dodgy weird eletrical problems appear. If lights are pulsing as well and the radio comes on and off it could be an alternator.

Hi Firesong,

Thanks for the hot tips. We actually don't have a trailer hookup...and so far our radio has been maintaining full power *touch wood*

We replaced our dual batteries a few months ago so were a little worried we may have knocked one of the fusible links...but neither of us are savy enough to know how to test them.

Cheers,

We seem to be having an electrical issue. We are on the road traveling from Ontario to BC and our gas gauge, heat gauge and rpm stopped working. They may work the next time I start the van or maybe not. It comes and goes. We are heading in to Moose Jaw this afternoon. Really need the issue resolved before we hit the Rockies. I'd hate to do that without my heat gauge.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a bad conection at the plug that plugs into the back of the dash gauges try wiggling it with the key on and see if the gauges work .
