Noob Question
trying to find my horn to see if it is hosed, the wiring or the switch and I wanted to pop the "hood" but I can't seem to find how. I felt like a total ass the first day I had it trying to first find the gas door and then the lever to open it, I walked around the thing for like 5 minutes! Anyways, any help would be great.
thanks
thanks

Re: Noob Question
There are two latches. One is beside your left calf when in the drivers seat and the other is on the passenger side kind of between your calfs when in the passengers seat. The passengers seat latch have a double latch, the obvious one and then there is one that is spring loaded that you have to lift when you are lifting the hood. Where the hood is the entire passengers seat and center console. There is a loop up by the passengers seat belt tat you can hook to an area on the hood when it is up .
Hope this helps. As for where the horn is???? Not sure mine works...at least for now

Re: Noob Question
Sorry I must not have been clear (I know how to get at the engine as I replaced the batteries before I even bought it) I was talking about the little hood up front, unless I'm so noobtastic that I'm asking how to open something that isn't even there. Think the washer fluid and stuff might be up there?

Re: Noob Question
Thanks, that will do it. Kind of doesn't really matter now as Marigold will fix the horn to compliance it. I guess I got the idea that it opened seeing a pic at some point of that area open or something but someone must have taken it apart or I'm thinking of something else completely.

Re: Noob Question
horns are accessible from under the vehicle, you have to remove the forward skid plate to get at them.

You've probably seen pictures of the Delica L400 with it's hood open since it opens up like that.loki wrote:Thanks, that will do it. I'm a noob then too.. i have seen a picture of the washer fluid res slid out.. but wasnt able to get it to move.. and i dont like to use excessive force.. so i happened to have a funnel around with a long spout on it.. so i put some heat to it made a few bends and poof.. i dont have to move anything.. :) and it stays too so i dont have to hold it while i fill it up..
no mess no fuss.. :)

Re: Noob Question
Yeah, it seems like excessive force to get that reservoir out, but it does come out, straight towards the back of the van.

Re: Noob Question
Since we're all talking about the silly things we did when we were n00bs with our vehicles... I actually managed to unscrew the washer motor out of the bottom of the washer reservoir before I realised that the whole bloody thing slid back on its rails! Well, considering the reservoir wasn't completely empty when I was so desperately trying to fill it, it piddled all over the floor, and then it piddled some more when I discovered that I hadn't screwed the motor back in correctly.
Needless to say, it was a 'fun' experience trying to top-up the washer fluid. At least the one for the rear window is much simpler - don't need a wrench or screwdriver or hammer or twisted-necked-funnel or nothing.

Re: Noob Question
Before I tried something silly trying to figure out how to fill the washer fluid I thought I should check here first, and sure enough, slides out? Great, that saved me some time after spending the afternoon swapping out the lights for eCodes and installing the DRL.
I had the same experience, took me 5 minutes to find the gas door latch.
So now I need to ask, where is the location of the rear fluid resevoir?

Re: Noob Question
Open the rear door and look to the bottom of the piston on the drivers side. There is a little rubber seal. Open it and fill with washer fluid.

Re: Noob Question
On the topic of front hoods I had Marigold do a bit of servicing on my van and found out that the plastic fascia between the headlights pulls off with a good yank and makes it much easier to change bulbs . (by the way Marigold Service rocks! )

Re: Noob Question
Great thanks.
Here's another Noob. While I was just out there looking for it, I see this red bar in my back window. I tell my son to step on the brakes and sure enough, a factory installed high mount brake light. I had simply assumed there would not be such a thing and had ordered one along with the eCode headlights, and fortunately he forgot to ship it!
Next to go look again for the oil dipstick. THe other night I had a quick look and did not see it, at first I grabbed the Transmission dipstick.
I just changed the headlight modules and didn't think to remove that fascia as it wasn't necessary in the end anyway. I assume you'll still have to remove the corner module so you can remove the 3 bolts that hold the headlight module in place.
