Transmission replacement for 1992 L300?

Hi everyone,

We've got a 1992 L300 that's ready for a new transmission. It is still currently drivable, but the transmission could soon. The repair shop we took it to gave us a ballpark estimate of $3500 to get the transmission fixed, which is out of our budget. Any advice on how to go about getting it replaced (in as budget-friendly way as possible?). Or if we had to sell it as-is, any advice on how much it might be worth? Here are some other stats about our delica:

-270,000km
-in good shape (other than transmission and some minor body damage typical for an old adventure-mobile)
-custom roof rack & awning
-custom interior with camo vinal flooring, usb ports and 12V 3-prong plugs
-new 4WD tires (about 6 months old) + full sized spare
-trailer hitch

Cheers,

Ryan

Cant talk from experience but try with most popular garage that knows these Delica in BC, it may help you save a LOT of money. Or do it yourself, it seems to be a 15 minutes work (look that video) :)

I understand that at least for the 2WD version, that the transmission is supposedly the exact same one as the same generation Montero. Maybe this would be true for the 4WD.
