Hello all!
I've been lurking and coveting the Delica for a couple years now and it's finally come to be.

I managed to cook up a trade deal with my Jeep JKU and I'm compleatly happy.

I've got a White '94 Super Exceed l400.

Now the learning begins, it's my first right-hand drive, first diesel, and first van.

Things I've noticed so far is how much space there is in it! How much better the visibility is when driving, needs a couple minutes to warm up and run smooth when cold and not plugged in but smoothes out quickly and warms up faster than the jeep did. Also feels more stable than the jeep when cornering, doesn't dive when braking hard, and doesn't jump around as much as the jeep did going over bumps and potholes.

I've got a couple questions if people can help out that'd be great:

Where is a good place in calgary to get a remote starter/car alarm/door lock remote installed? Or should I just time it to YVR for that?

The previous owner told me he was putting 2stroke oil in the fuel in the winter, anyone heard of this? If so reasoning and how much?

What are the recomended km's/times between oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, transmission and transfer case, diffs?

What about greasing? I've only looked under it not crawled under yet.

What kind of l/100km should I expect to see? I've seen it written that it should get down around 9 or 10 but what do you guys see?

I see you're posting so you must be searching answers to your questions. Those questions all have been posted before.
Lube points are drive shaft U joints, ball joints and tie rods on the L400.

Fuel mileage, be happy with 10-12 L/100 kms. Winter mileage is sometimes worse than summer.
Search out the amt of 2 stroke used. I'm a gasser but maybe one of the diesel owners can help you out.

Craig and a few other Diesel Delica owners have been using 2-cycle oil to enhance fuel lubrication inside the injector pump. I don't use 2-cycle oil myself - I use other fuel lube additives that also hve cetane boosters for better winter fuel combustion......cetane for diesel fuel is like octane in gasoline.

Craig did a lot of work on his Deli before he sold it....I also did some electrical work on it when he came to Calgary last Summer.

I was hoping to host a Delica Tech night this summer but my garage build fell behind schedule by a few months. Will have to host it next year instead.

Do you recall what electrical work you did for Craig? Pm me if you like, Craig kept quite good records of everything he did or had done but it seems that towards the end he just kept receipts, which is very helpful, and the guy after him did the same. I'm still sorting thru the paper to see where I'm at..

A winter tech night is not possible right now. Any time I do have is dedicated to finish my garage project.

As for what I did, we traced a heater blower issue to a defective ground on a fuse. We also aligned the rear hatch lock mechanism. Delica's (L400) are not that hard to figure out if you have the mechanics manuals. The fuel system and timing are the only truely tricky systems.

Search the forum....and download the PDF manual sections from our forum, they are very helpful and would prevent repeats of existing info.

Hey! Welcome to the club. As a former member I can assure you that you got a sweet Delica! I miss that baby. Spent much time and love on it so if you ever need some advice feel free to PM me.
