i have one of Jesse's kits installed and it's time to replace the shocks. I'm not to happy with the Procomps it came with and want to switch to Bilstein shocks. I've tried to find the numbers on this site as well as the web. I think i have it narrowed down but the measurements are a bit off on the ones I've managed to cross reference too.

Old-Procomp
Front=915510 pin top/eye/bottom
Extended=15.64"
Closed=10.02"

Rear=925509 eye top/eye bottom
Extended=25.74"
Closed=15.49"

Bilstein
Front
Extended=14.72"
Closed=10.02"

Rear
Extended=25.98"
Closed=15.93"

As you can see the measurements are a bit off on each. I'm not sure if this is going to affect my ride in any way. Will I lose some of my lift on the front? Will I stretch the brake line in the rear? Any advice or opinions would be appreciated on this matter. Part numbers even more so. If I find the right ones, I'll gladly post numbers to the forum.

when it comes to shocks you need to know the distance between the shock mounting points on the vehicle first.

there is no guarantee the ProComps are the correct ones to compare against.

There is a better way to get the right dimensions but its not the shocks you measure...its the mounting points on the Delica for the shocks at 3 different suspension positions: STATIC, COMPRESSED, EXTENDED.

Summit Racing has a good demo. For anyone reading this and is curious about shocks: You don't want a shock that will bottom out before the suspension does...that will grenade a shock or ruin the internal valve dampening mechanism. You also don't want a shock that extends too far in the rear as that could cause a coil spring to fall out...that would suck! Rancho and Monroe have good listings online by size...not just by part number.....I have had good luck with Monroe Sensatraks Good solid units. PS: I have seen many problems with ProComps over the years and this also comes from over 10 yrs of doing editorial content for Canada 4WD.....most off roaders stay away from PC's....there are better options out there.
