Introducing: The Pheonix

Hi all! I've been a member since '09 and have mined forum for info regularly. I have a "96 L400 Exceed and have recently acquired a camper built on a '97 L300 truck chassis.(haven't figured out how to reduce file size for pics) The goal is to modify it for overland travel. Planned mods are: Egr removal,Pyro Gauge,Boost gauge, 2 1/2" stainless exhaust snorkel 2" lift (shackles and torsion bars) spring re-arc/added leaf, Off-road bumpers w/hitch receivers to accept a movable winch. Also on the list is a wheel/ tire size change to 16" wheels with a positive offset and 8"? wide tires to increase stability. Pheonix is very tall. One of my first challenges is that there is no tach. I'm assuming that there is a place to insert a tach pick-up and am hoping to acquire an instrument panel with a tach gauge. The owners manual (Japanese) shows several instrument panel options, so I think I should be able to change it out. I am also in search of a classic L300 triple gauge pod, hopefully with the level gauge intact. Any help, ideas,suggestions will be greatly appreciated. The wealth of knowledge on this forum about these awesome vehicles astounds me. I'm sure that i will be posting lots of questions and will try to maintain a build thread as I go. Cheers, Karl
