Hey guys and girls

I have an l300 p25w delica auto and I just scored a front diff from a series 1 v6 manual pajero and aisin manual hubs from a early triton but no locker yet :-(

Question while I'm in the area my power steering rack is looking worse for wear "rusty oh so rusty" and front cv's seem a lil noisy in 4wd so what upgrades to the cv's and power steering are available to us?

I have access to more s1 pajero v6 manual parts cv's and half shaft etc can I use these shafts in some combination with different ends as I believe these are stronger shafts than norm pajero or delica ones?

Power steering rack rebuild or swaps?

Or any other suggested upgrades in the area would be of great help

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Jason

For the steering rack I would compare rebuild parts like inner/outer tie-rods and dust boots for the S1 Pajero and your Delica. It's possible the steering racks and CV axles are compatible as the L300 and (2.5L Diesel) Pajero do share a similar frame/suspension.....its plausible that the petrol V6 Pajero would also have compatible parts.

I am better versed on the late 90's Montero Sport V6 that was sold in the USA and which parts are compatible with the Japan L400 Spacegear.

You could also do some basic measurements for mounting bolt locations for the racks in both vehicles.

The CV may look identical to the eye but the outer cv shaft spline might be different when compared to your Deli. Again a quick check at your local parts supplier should tell you if the new parts are the same for both vehicles or not. You could also use a Pajero CV joint and use it to rebuild your Delica CV joint....sorta like frankenstein......or Franken-Deli if you prefer!
