My dream boat is shipping tomorrow! Fully loaded P35W with crystal lite roof, 2nd row captains chairs, hot/cool/ice box and not with a single spot o rust. The perfect adventure mobile.
I picked her up in Osaka with 100,000km for a fair price.
Here's some photo's:
I was curious if anyone can decipher the chassis codes on these vehicles, I mostly just want to find out if it has an LSD or not. There is a visible sticker on the rear diff (HZ8) not sure if that says anything...
Looks like she's going to need some new shoes, general maintenance, and a tune for mountain altitude, but not too much by the looks of things!
Anyways, super excited.

What year is she ?
Mine if still in Japan and will only show it to the community in less than a year from now, once plated. Here is a suggestion if you want as mine will be clean as yours but unfortunatly without icebox: have it rust proof underside and inside doors-hatch, etc. I do plan to take down the inside ceiling panels to rustproof it from inside too. I am even to the point of asking myself if I would buy a second Delica that will only use in winter-heavily salted raod and keep a cleaned no-rust Deli for summer time. Just a tought

she is a 1994.
I saw the thread by flexboi about DIY undercoating and considered that for sure. I don't baby my vehicles and expect them to take all terrain and weather conditions, but some protection for the underside and rear hatch is definitely a good plan.

Driven and kept in south Japan so the undercarriage is also spotless.
Why rebuild the rad? Are they problematic on this engine?

Did you purchase-import it on your own or with a broker-importer ? I am curious on how much it costed you in total, up to when it landed in Canada ?

Yes - the cooling systems are often plugged with calcium. Not rebuilding the cooling system has lead to many a cracked head...
Nice bus btw - hope you get heaps of fun out of it!

Wouldn't a coolant flush take care of a dirty cooling system? I guess I'm not seeing what you all mean by 'rebuilding' the cooling system
Can you refer me to a thread?

A flush is not enough. New hoses, water pump and a recored rad are in order.
Have a look here (
