Hi all. I wanna campout, saturday. Location undecided. Perhaps explore squamish river north of squamish town (I canoed near there last sunday, no snow) or chilliwack area (less snow than Hope area). No rain, let's go and get some campfire smoke therapy. Each person can bring a coupla milk crates of firewood scraps from local house building sites...I have marshmallow toasting forks.
I will be at the IKEA coquitlam meet tonight, we can make plans then.
Cheers christine.

I hiked up a ways on Burke Mtn today to an inversion and sunshine. It was soooo nice after all the fog and cool weather down below. So.. my point is go on day hikes this weekend and enjoy the weather on the local hillsides.

Hi Almac. Wish you were here, havent seen you in ages.
We did a day trip only, on forestry road, and found two great spots for future camping along Squamish River north of town (north of Tim Horton's aka Safari Snack Suppliers). We had gorgeous weather, hot sunshine and sunburnt faces, and NO FOG (so nice to get out of the oppressive fog that Vancouver has been stuck with lately). Found some good fishing areas. We had planned to have campfire at lunch, but instead we hiked along the river in the sunshine and admired the snow topped mountains and glaciers. The forestry gravel road in good condition, they were actually grading road that sunday (perhaps due to hydro power sites in the area). Campsites cleanish, not much rubbish. We had 3 vehicles: TardisDeli L300 Delica, Laurentiu in Pajero, and Delicat in Nissan Safari Patrol. All 3 vehicles on WVO.
cheers christine.
