what light is this? "yellow battery"

Hello all! This is my first post, been enjoying my 1992 L300 Deli for the past few months.

I had a warning light come on on my dash and I am not sure what it is warning me about..HELP!

Its a battery light, yellow, with positive and negative marked on it, and what seems to be a "fluid" level inside it. It is next to the "e-brake on" indicator. It kinda tells me to 'check the battery fluid level' but I have never seen a battery having a powered level indicator light.

All the other indicators are pretty straight forward, water in filter, e-brake, red battery indicator light.

Help me out? I don't want to end up in a no start situation this weekend!

cheers!
tim

You have funny shaped batteries! Thats the water in the fuel filter trap light. Ive never had to empty mine but I assume you just unscrew it to let it drain and screw it back in.

yojimbo.thx for the response. :-)
but if i'm not mistaken, isnt the water trap an upside red cone shaped light? Drained that a few weeks ago well before this light appeared last night. This one is a battery but yellow. It is marked with a '+' and a ' -' just like the red battery warning light but it has 'waves' inside it representing a liquid.
It's come on on start-up and stays on now.

Thanks for the help so far!

cheers!

This might help clear it up a little, its a pic of the white dial kit, and you can see what all the icons are:

Somewhere I have the original dial kit from mine before I fitted the MPH one, but it looks like my wife has been tidying for me....

I got it figured out with the help of Shogo and crew at Japanoid.........the light was a maintenance reminder to check the acid/water level in the battery cells...

Cheers!

I'm a bit skeptical. If it is a reminder what turns it on and how do you turn it off? If your talking about the light between the E Brake and the AT light ( see yojimbo's dash layout ) I'd still bet on the water in the the fuel filter explanation.

I just had the same light come on in my '97 L300. It started after I had the batteries replaced.

Butch at CVI told me that there is a sensor that inserts into the battery to let you know if the acidity or water level within the battery is off. When I replaced my batteries there was no place for the probe to sit in the battery so the light came on.

So it seems that the light is a "something's up with your battery, but its not the voltage" light.

BINGO ! the win goes to Paule and Butch (heard of him haven't met him yet)...............a stock Deli battery has some sort of monitoring system that lights this light up when the battery level needs to be checked......I dont know why mine came on after 3 months of owning the van but as of yesterday I just took the bulb out since I have a sealed Optima Yellowtop battery installed. Problem solved......now onto my glowplug issue

cheers!
