My Delica's right lower beam is out. So I went to check and found that the plug ( socket ) has melted down a bit .I unplugged it back but it won't work anymore. I thought I will replace it with a new one by cutting it out but a friend told me not to but repair it . What is your opinion? Is it possible to find a replaceable part?

Thx,
DC

Pull the bulb and if it appears okay visually do a bench test and check it with a multi-meter or battery charger/jumper wires-battery. Just because an element looks okay doesn't always mean it is.

Test your plug connection as well to ensure the wires are not burned/broken.

The H4 headlight plug body can be purchased from local parts outlets.....Cajun-Tire should have it but Napa, Partsource ........are more likely.

Wire repairs if needed are easy, just use a good quality soldering tool and solder and use heat-shrink tubing to protect any repairs. Electrical tape can be used as a secondary barrier if desired.

Thanks Big Bird. I will try out your suggestion. Hope I can get the replacement plug connector. I am told if cut the wire , it has to be connect back very good.

stripped, soldered, shrink wrapped. Even better if you put liquid electrical tape under the heat shrink... but not mandatory.

Thanks. I will have to if I cannot repair the plug. Yes seems that that's the best way connecting together.
