Yeah this could go under parts sales, but probably not a lot of people go there, and this is something I want to share with the community. PM if you are interested. Pick up in Campbell River only, I wont ship.

Selling new 20L & 5L metal jerry cans. The cans are good quality, they have an anti corrosion powder coating inside and out and a rubber seal lid that actually works in spill prevention. Metal cans do not release fumes like plastic ones. These are extremely difficult to find in Canada for any reasonable price, and I have a limited supply.

Each can comes with a matching nozzle.

20L cans available in red, yellow or green. $60 per can. These cans have a 0.9mm wall thickness.

5L cans available in red or yellow. $40 per can. These cans have a 0.6mm wall thickness.

Really dig the colors, but they're a bit pricey. :) How heavy are they?

i'm still waiting on a sale at PA for scepter cans.

Not pricey. If you want high quality metal jerry cans, that is the going price, or a little less. Plastic ones are cheaper, and do the job. . . but they are plastic. If you want nice looking cans on your roof rack, you get what you pay for.

I would pay $80 if I could get my hands on these, but you can't find them much anymore.

I love 'em, and have been looking, I think the price is very much in the ball park of what you're gonna find anywhere else, except perhaps on sale.

Too bad Ft. McMurray is so far from Campbell River.

For those not in pick up range Princess auto has them in
the surplus area in Saskatoon. In Green. The nozzle is priced separately
(might be available elsewhere)

Question. Can you store them on their side temp and will the seal
keep them from leaking?

PA sells them for 65 bucks, one colour, olive drab. Funny how regs don't seem to apply; I thought gas cans had to be red, diesel yellow; they do for marine. I think some bright spark would make a killing making plastic cans that look like the old metal jerry cans.

The cans are heavy - meaning theres a good amount of steel to them. 0.9mm wall thickness is as thick as youre going to find anywhere.

The cans do not leak, whatsoever, nor do they permeate vapor the way plastic cans do. As a test I filled up a can with diesel and set it on its side in the back of my van while I drove 40kms on bumpy road. Nothing happened, no leaks, no smell at all. I know for a fact you cant say the same about a plastic can.

Im really pleased with the product. $60 is not pricey in the long run. Yeah you can get a plastic can for $20 at crappy tire, and itll sort of do the job. But it will leak, it will smell, and in 5 years of actual use itll be toast - especially if it ever sees the light of (UV) day. You get what you pay for.

Run over to Ukrainian Tire and pick up a "Tank Valve". The same sort of valve you find on your tires and bike tires. Drill a hole at the back of the can where the valves used to be. Make sure it is slightly smaller than the threads.

Remove the actual valve from inside the tank valve stem, and screw the now hollow tank valve into the hole in the back of the plastic can you drilled. Apply epoxy or sealant if desired to thread area.

Finally, put the valve cap on top of the tank valve, and you now have an "old style" vented can with a cap for the vent. Empties 20 liters of diesel in under a minute as you don't have to wait for it to suck in air.

It used to be a pain until I realised that it was a great stamina builder. Now I alternate my arms when emptying into my tank. you should see my ab!

Negativentropy's metal J cans do look like a good deal. How scratch resistant is the anti corrosion powder coat?

I have a 20L and a 5L of these jerry cans. They came with the trailer I bought. PO used them for carrying spare fuel for his generator. The rubber seals on the lid and the spout has now deteriorated and it leaks when transferring diesel to the van's fuel tank. Oil and rubber do not work too well maybe? The anti rust protection on the 5L can is also starting to peel off.

Not trying to stop anyone from selling. This is just an FYI.

Ummmmmm......These are not pricey at all....40 bucks cheaper than the one I bought and these ones seam to have a nicer nozzle!!!!!

Well there are still a few available. The rubber gaskets on the lids are thick and wide and do not react to diesel or gas. Like I said, I have one in the back of my van, full of diesel, sitting on its side and it doesnt create any smell in the van. All things being equal, I believe these cans would outlast any plastic can out there and damnit, they just look sharp!
