Check your upper control arms!

I ran a search and didn't come up with anything so I figure its either not a problem.. or a problem that has not started popping up yet. I had a crawling about under my L300 the other night with a flash light just havin a look around. As he swept the light past the suspension I noticed what seemed to be small flash on the arm itself. Upon closer inspection there was about a 1" crack in the front of the arm about 3" down from the bushing hidden under a layer of dirt and dust. If the light had not be aimed at the back of the arm I would have never seen it, as it is so tiny. This was clearly not the result of an accident or a hit of any kind but due to metal fatigue. Figured I would post this up as a heads up just in case some of you are driving around with a broken control arm without realizing it. Hopefully it was just a token thing on my van but better safe then sorry.

I should have snapped a photo but I am leaving on a road trip in about 30 min... so a quick bead with the welder and the problem is solved.

I have posted up about upper control arm bushing before...

The upper bushings are prone to wear (I wonder if you bushing seized? Had a GM van fail like that once)..

You cannot get bushings...so you need to replace the a-arms....
