Hey all. I need some advice on what to do with my current tire situation. I am currently running Yokohama Geolandar AT/S all around which came on the van when I got it 3 years ago. I have put 65000 clicks on them and have not been so vigilant in rotating them so my fronts have rounded off. The back ones are still pretty decent.

I am trying to decide whether I want to get 2 new Yoko's and put them on the van (not sure whether I should switch the fronts with new ones or put the new ones on the back and burn up the old rear ones- makes sense?) OR crappy tire has a sale on their General Grabber AT2's. The cost of getting 2 Yoko's will be the same as replacing all 4 with Grabbers.

I don't have any issues with the Yoko's. they could be better in the snow around here but overall they are pretty decent and relatively quiet. The Grabbers look more aggressive (possibly noisier) but might be better in the snow. I don't know anything about their reliability but crappy tire does have a good tire warranty.

What do you guys think? 2 new Yoko's or 4 new Grabbers?

I have had 4 grabbers on mine since I got my van. They have been great!

I've been running Grabbers for 50,000+ kms. Great in snow, good in mud. Starting to get a little noisy, but still fine.

After some tweaking getting the psi right I have been quite happy with the Goodyear Duratracs. Stick like glue in the snow. They do make some road noise around 50-60kph when the windows are down...but it sounds kind of like Sebulba's pod racer (whub whub whub) so I kind of dig it.

They need replacing at 65,000? My BFG AT's have 85,000 on them and I won't be replacing them for another 6 months probably.

Just the two front ones are in need. I rounded them off pretty good. The back 2 are fine. This is the dilemma.

I got a quote and with 4 new grabbers, installation, balancing, warranty- $650. I have spoken to a few people that have them and they love them. I am going to save my two old decent ones in case I decide to go back to them Yokohamas down the road, but it looks like I am going to get the Grabbers. I am actually going to save one of the crappy old ones and swap it out with the spare (not DOT approved). So I am actually only getting rid of one tire.

I would keep the back 2 for spares then, or at least one of them. The ones of the drivers side of the vehicle are fairly rounded because of an alignment problem, but I will be going with Duratracs from Discount Tire when I replace them and will keep the rear passenger one as a spare.

Got the Grabbers thrown on today. Total cost was $650. So far very happy with them. They are actually quieter than my Yokohamas were, which is weird for it being a much more aggressive tread. I like them and think they look great. Just want to see how they handle the snow and ice now...

Are those the stock ish 235 75 15s? You lifted?

Those are 235 75 15's on aftermarket rims. You are not the first to ask if it is lifted, but I don't think it is. I do have the torsion bars cranked in the front and Bilstein's on it though.

Put a few hundred on these tires and I love them. They are so much better than my Yokohama's. They are SO quiet and a softer ride than the old tires. I would recommend them to you all the next time they go on sale at Crappy Tire.

Maybe its the rims and the fender flares. Mine is white as well and it just looks different enough.

They'll do just fine in the snow:
