New from Port Moody

Post by SkiDelicaSki »

Just picked up a 1993 L300 Chamonix! Very excited to get out exploring in it. Some near future additions are lift gate struts and a roof rack to hold my ski box. It currently has a heavy Terzo ladder on the back that I might try and swap for some racks.

Welcome to Delica Canada, SDS :M

Did you know that you can get your current struts regassed? The Terzo ladders are quite heavy, I have a skinny Mitsubishi ladder on mine, still added weight but nowhere near as heavy. These do turn up from time to time. Are you driving a high roof or low roof?

I've heard that re-gassing will only last a couple of year or as low as a year with a Terzo ladder because they're so heavy. I just cut myself some "J bead" as a simple an cheap way of holding the gate up. There's a company in the UK that will create struts to your specifications and I've heard that is a better option if you have a Terzo. I'll go that route when I finally have expendable money to throw at non-important repairs.
