Hi All,

Finally have my Delica...91 Super Exceed...and lovin' it.

If there are any other Delica owners in my neighbourhood it would be great to hear from you - maybe share info on mechanics, getting biodiesel etc.

Cheers

Hey Russ,

Congrats on the Delica. We just got ours on Saturday. We are located up in the Cowichan.

There are a couple guys in Victoria too.

Right on!

I'm also interested in getting a trailer hitch if you ever come across any VanIsle info (I believe Vancouver Island Custom Car Imports will based on another posting but like to have more than one choice).

Cheers

We are looking to put a trailer hitch on ours as well. So if you find a place let me know and I will do the same for you.

Perhaps we could get some kind of deal if its more than one vehicle since it will probably be a custom job.

Thanks - do you know if they need to remove the rear bumper?

Hey that sounds good. Maybe we organize for the 3 of us to do it at the same time. Perhaps a discount? Although it does sound a lot cheaper than other places already.

From the looks of other Delicas it does look like the rear bumper has to be removed for the hitch so that its not too low and also for accessibility to the spare tire.

Sounds good but can't say how much control over my life I'll have for the coming weeks (re:baby). I doubt I'll need anything before spring so if you can wait until around then...

Russ,

I could wait but our baby is due in March!

I guess we could find out if they would give a discount first anyway.

We are looking for a trailer too - just for hauling wood, sand, and gravel that kind of thing. Anybody have a suggestion? How much can the Deli pull by the way?

I think there is a mini babyboom going on right now

I'll let you know when it looks like my head is above water but keep me posted if you chat with any trailer hitch guys.

i believe the delis are like most small vehicles and pull 3500 lbs. there is one here on gabriola with a hitch and he says "it pulls like a trojan". i assume that means it's great. Each hitch is custom from mid-isle and it seems like a good price. i don't think the owner needs us badgering him to give us a good deal. he says that delis are a bit of pain anyway, besides we all need to make a living at something. just my two cents.
