they switch okay. No problems. Your L400 came with DOT approved tires didn't it, so you didn't need to transfer tires. Lucky you.

Well they'll fit stud pattern and overall sizewise, but standard L400 rims are more inset from the offset than standard L300 rims (33mm vs 22mm IIRC) But i cant remember if they are any wider, if they are you wont see much overall difference in track I guess, and you may have to adjust the steering limits.

I remember reading this a few weeks ago but I can't seem to find the post right now. An L300 has a center bore of 106mm so it is an easy swap for old toyo rims but the L400 have a center bore of 108mm. 2 mm could make quite the difference.

I took a die grinder to my l300 winter rims and they fit.

Thanks for the info. The tires in question are also large - 235-75-15 - I have the same size on my van now, and they are a tight fit. I'm worried that the offset difference will cause problems when compounded with the tire size. I'll probably just get new tires for the rims I have.

Good deal though: http://www.delica.ca/forum/tires-and-ri ... 14942.html
