Hey all.
I had my L300 at a shop in Kamloops to diagnose the turbo woes I've been having lately, and from what I deciphered from their analysis, the waste-gate is toast, (broken diaphragm). I'm still waiting on a quote for the parts/labor, but, knowing what they charge for labor, I'm going to want to do it myself. Looking for some input (professional or not) about this.

1. Is the waste gate a part available separate? (Just had my turbo rebuilt last year, don't want to get a new one)
2. Is there any tuning, adjustment or tweaking after? or is it just bolt on and drive?
3. Anyone know a good, cheap(ish) reliable shop willing to work on Delica's in the Kamloops area?

Wastegate or wastegate actuator? Since you mention diaphragm I assume you mean the wastegate actuator, this is easy to replace, I did mine a few years back, ordered a replacement from japan via ebay, and swapped it over, its 2 bolts, a pipe and a splitpin, access is maybe a little tricky, I had the drivers floor out to get in there, but you might get away with not. But apart from that its really simple to replace, and there is not setting up of them, they have fixed length rods, at least my later one does, might want to check if yours does or not.

Yes, as Yojimbo said, changing them is easy, getting your hands in there can sometimes be tricky. The ones I have installed, have a threaded portion on the rod, that is used to set the correct boost pressure by either lengthening or shortening the rod length. which ever style you get, if you don't have a boost gauge, it's probably a good idea to get one so you can check and make sure you are not over boosting.

In Kamloops, I've had a number of things done at Franco's. The work is satisfactory, but the shop rate is ridiculous. I've heard goods and bads about them, but I've never suffered from their work, so the only gripe I have is the cost.

I'm back in town now and will be around on the weekend if you want to compare installs. I'm likely going to Armstrong next week ( J Cruisers ) they may be able to help with a new or used part. Send a PM if you want to discuss further.
