lap belt seatbelt replacement

Hello. As others have experienced, my lap belt is no longer disengaging on one of my middle passenger seats. Its racheted all the way in and wont release. It appears that the small plastic enclosed ratcheting piece has broken. It also appears that the seat belt mechanism is held on by one bolt. Has anybody replaced their seat belt unit? Is that simple?? I don't see a way of fixing this as it appears as though the broken pieces are pretty small little pieces of plastic. I am concerned about this as it will be buckling in my children's car seats. Thanks for any help you can give.

When it comes to safety its best to replace the offending part. There was also an L400 owner who has been parting out his busted Delica. You can always get a part shipped to you from guys like RSI or Amazing Auto.

I have contacted a couple people, waiting to hear back. I've also received a message from a local Deli dealer. 150 dollars each. I guess you can't put a price on safety.

If you have some time a stroll through an autowrecker might yield some value.....Mid 90's Dodge Colt uses the same headrest frame as the L400 so it might be possible that a lap belt from the back seat might work. The Dodge colt is made by Mitsubishi incase you didn't know. There are several legacy parts that were used in multiple models of Mitsubishi around the world.

While doing a spring clean today noticed that my stuck lap belt has started working again...guess that drivetrain vibration must have wiggled it just right over the last few months :o

One of my captains chairs does that. It works for a few weeks, then stops working for a few weeks.

My drivers rear captain seat lap belt decided to stop working today. So I took it off and decided to take a peek. Nothing broken or floating. So I then decided to take off the passenger side one that works to compare and now they both don't work!! Anyone got any suggestions? This van pisses me off sometimes (actually a lot).
