The bulg in it near the top, can it be reshaped with a hot air gun? I'd rather leave them on.

If those are 31's you need to do some trimming and remove the flap. If you don't have a lift you may want to re-think larger wheels entirely.

They aren't 31s, they are 245/70/16's Diameter is ~29.5 inches, I'd read that 30's generally fit ok, and these are close, they just kiss the mudflap on the turn. Shame really, I could also see if I can get a slightly smaller tyre on that rim, but that would incur a cost penalty of course.

I run 225/75/R16 which equal 29.4 inches....no modifications were necessary other than to bend the forward inner well flap out an extra 1/2 inch. (support wires) I run 16x7 rims with a 3.25 backspace. The offset/backspace is just as important to calculate as the diameter. I have a 2" lift which certainly helps for added room.
I do like the positive offset of your wheels. I would say your running at least 8" rims. (or in the least -high offset)
Ill trade you for my 16x7" black steelies if you cant make them work. Mine are only an added 19mm offset from the stock 6's, and you could keep you tires. BUT the shipping is on you!!!

Could be the wider offset causing problems. Have you tested for rubbing on full articulation?

I have 235/75R15s. They work out to 29.5 inches in diameter. The front wheel in the first picture you posted is definitely bigger than my tyres.

Rubbing on full articulation didn't look to be a problem, probably because of the offset, they are quite far away from anything! To be fair these rims are 'only' zero offset, they arent some crazy negative offset things. I'll have to do a real world measurement of diameter to see what the crack is, my diameter is just what wheel calculators say they work out at, maybe I could fit the most worn tyres at the front!

Maybe they are actually bigger than 29.5", which would be a PITA. Looking at alternative tyres, which I dont really want to do but... there are some smaller tyres I can get on 16" rims, and usually marked as van winter tyres, might have to go down that route, as it would be nice for the spare to a) fit or b) be roughly the same OD.

Falco, your 235/75 R15's are 28.8", not 29.5.....

My L400 has similar offset wheels and it is slightly lifted. I run 225/75/16 and the front tyres still rub on up-travel on turns.

is that white deli your? what lift, size tires, and offset you running.
